Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMJAY) is an initiative of the Government of India aimed at providing quality generic medicines at affordable prices to the masses, especially the economically weaker sections of society. The program was launched to promote the use of generic medicines and reduce the financial burden of healthcare on citizens.

Key features of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana include:

  1. Affordable Medicines: The program focuses on making quality generic medicines available at significantly lower prices than their branded counterparts. This is particularly beneficial for individuals who may find it challenging to afford expensive medications.
  2. Jan Aushadhi Kendras: The initiative involves the establishment of Jan Aushadhi Kendras (medical stores) across the country. These stores are intended to serve as a one-stop shop for affordable generic medicines and other healthcare products.
  3. Quality Assurance: The medicines available at Jan Aushadhi Kendras are required to meet the quality standards set by the government. This ensures that the generic drugs offered are safe and effective for use.
  4. Wide Range of Medicines: Jan Aushadhi stores aim to provide a comprehensive range of medicines covering various therapeutic categories. This includes essential medications for common ailments and chronic conditions.
  5. Incentives for Store Owners: Individuals or entities operating Jan Aushadhi Kendras are provided with incentives to encourage their participation in the program. This helps in expanding the network of stores across the country. Operating agency will be provided 20% margin on MRP (Excluding taxes) of each drug. BPPI will provide one-time financial assistance upto Rs. 2.50 lakh as per details given below where space is provided free by State Govt in Government Hospital premises
    i. Rs. 1 lakh reimbursement of furniture and fixtures.
    ii. Rs. 1 lakh by way of free medicines in the beginning.
    iii. Rs 0.50 lakh as reimbursement for computer, internet, printer, etc
  6. Public Awareness: The government conducts awareness campaigns to inform the public about the availability of affordable generic medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras. This is crucial in promoting the use of generic drugs and dispelling misconceptions about their efficacy.

How to Open Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra

Documents Required for Opening Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Kendra

(i) Own space or hired space (Minimum 120 sq feet) duly supported by ownership, proper lease agreement or space allotment letter.

(ii) Self Attested Aadhar Card, PAN card, Scanned copy of your photograph and signature, Proof of securing a pharmacist with name, Registration with the State Council etc. (or it can be submitted at the time of final approval of PMBJK)

(iii) ITR For 2 Years and 6 month Bank Statements

(iv) Declaration for GST registration once threshold limit is achieved.

(v) Undertaking of distance policy as per guideline.

2) Click on ‘APPLY FOR KENDRA’ Tab

4) Click on tab ‘REGISTER NOW” and fill up the applicant’s detail with unique Mobile no. & Email ID

5) After successful registration, the applicant will get an email containing a unique ‘USER ID & PASSWORD’ for Portal login

6) Login with USER ID and PASSWORD received/created through registered email Id

7) The application processing fee amount must be deposited only in the PMBI’s Virtual Account given below:

8) Fill the application form carefully; STEP 1 (Basic information with details of application processing fee of Rs. 5000/- under Govt. Category) & STEP 2 (Proposed Kendra Details) and other relevant details.

9) Upload the documents e.g. PACS ID, Certificate of incorporation, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card and Bank Statement of 06 months. etc.

10) Each document must be uploaded under size of 200KB in PDF/JPEG/PNG/JPG format only.

11) Review the filled application & click on final Submit button

After this, your application has been submitted successfully, and confirmation will be shared on the applicant’s registered email Id. Applicant can also check their application status online at any time by login in the same portal or can call us on helpline number 18001808080
